FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do your hockey camps work?
Our hockey camps operate during the school holidays, typically running for specific blocks of days (e.g., a 2-day or 5-day camp). A new booking is required for each holiday camp, and places must be secured in advance prior to the start date.
What equipment does my child need?
For all hockey camps, children must bring:
Shin pads
A mouth guard
Sports/PE kit appropriate for the weather
A packed lunch and a refillable water bottle
We will provide hockey sticks, balls, and all other coaching equipment required for the sessions.
How do you manage severe allergies and medical needs?
We are fully committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all children, operating as an strictly "allergy-aware" camp rather than a "nut-free" zone. To manage the risks of cross-contamination, we strictly forbid the sharing of food or water bottles among participants.
Please note the following critical medical requirements for our holiday camps:
Mandatory Medication: Because we operate as an independent holiday provider, we cannot legally purchase spare, non-prescription Adrenaline Auto-Injectors (AAIs), nor can we access the host school's locked medical supplies during the holidays. Therefore, if your child is at risk of anaphylaxis, you must provide two in-date, personally prescribed AAIs upon arrival.
Medication Storage: Our coaches will securely hold and monitor your child's prescribed AAIs throughout the duration of the camp.
Staff Training: All of our coaching staff undergo mandatory, accredited clinical training every year. They are fully trained to recognise the early symptoms of anaphylaxis—including exercise-induced allergic reactions—and are competent in administering AAI devices in an emergency.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We understand that British weather can be unpredictable! Where possible, we will work with the venue to move sessions indoors and deliver an alternative sports or hockey-based activity so children can still enjoy an active, fun day. In the rare event that a session cannot safely take place either indoors or outdoors, we will communicate with parents as soon as possible regarding any alternative arrangements or cancellations.
What is your behaviour policy?
We want all children to enjoy a fun, safe, and respectful environment at camp. To help achieve this, we operate a simple three-strike behaviour policy:
Strike One: The child will receive a verbal reminder about expected behaviour and be given the opportunity to correct it.
Strike Two: The child may be asked to sit out part of the session to cool down. Depending on the situation, parents may be informed at pick-up.
Strike Three: If behaviour issues continue over multiple days and/or significantly impact the enjoyment or safety of the camp for others, we reserve the right to withdraw a child's place from the camp.
This would normally only occur where behaviour concerns continue despite previous interventions and communication with parents. Please note that no refunds will be provided if a participant is removed from a camp due to ongoing behaviour issues.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. A full refund can be provided if cancellation is requested at least 7 days before the first day of the camp. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations made after this point, as venue, equipment, and staffing commitments will have already been finalised.
Who delivers the sessions?
All sessions are delivered by our team of experienced sports coaches. Every coach is appropriately qualified, fully DBS checked, clinically trained in allergy awareness, and committed to creating positive sporting experiences for young people.
